The day, with Pathmakers CIO charity, will start by meeting at the lay-by near Ludham Bridge. As we all walk along the River Ant one of the knowledgeable volunteers from Norfolk Wildlife Trust will help you understand the surroundings and any recognise any wildlife that we see. Onwards towards St Benet’s Abbey, and our walk leader will take you through the architectural story of the Abbey and those that have impacted it. The tour will finish by returning to the start point either together or at your own pace – you might take your time and enjoy a packed lunch.

The pathways are not completely level, and there is a steeper section as you leave Ludham. Please wear strong footwear and plan your clothing with the weather in mind.
If you have binoculars, they are a really good idea in such a wildlife-filled area in the Norfolk Broads.

In collaboration with Norfolk Archaeological Trust there is the opportunity for school age children to create their own stained glass window and join in other crafts. Then enjoy the St Benet’s site and follow the dragon trail.
