Bat Hunting at Whitlingham County Park

3 October 2025 18:00 - 3 October 2025 20:00

Join Lindsey from the  Norfolk and Norwich Bat group on an evening walk to discover the wonder of bats as we walk by the shore of Whitlingham lake and enjoy seeing them fly overhead.

Use detectors to listen to the calls they make, as they hunt for their insect prey.

Leisurely – Up to 2 miles / 3km long. On well-maintained mostly level surfaces, suitable for people who don’t regularly walk and are less confident, suitable for families with young children or anyone looking for a short walk.

  • Leisurely Walk
  • Children welcome  age 8 and over.

This guided walk is suitable for anyone aged 8 years and above, children over 8 and under 18 will need to be accompanied and supervised by an adult. No prior experience is necessary.

Please come prepared with warm clothing as the pace of the walk may be slow. We recommend sturdy shoes as the terrain is uneven (walking boots ideal, but trainers  adequate.)  Firm surface paths throughout.

Distance – up to 2 miles
