Because, for wellbeing, the power of nature can’t be overstated. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a regular forest bather, simply enjoy your Sunday dog walks, or can’t remember the last time you heard birdsong. We believe everyone has a right to access nature and to feel good when they do.
To improve access to the Norfolk countryside, Pathmakers partners with local organisations and communities to help run, facilitate, and support inclusive walking projects – from brisk walks that last a lunch hour to treks along our glorious coastline.
In some communities, though, walking for pleasure might be uncommon and routes hard to access; while physical barriers – uneven terrain, flooding, overgrown hedgerows, steps – can also prevent people from accessing nature.
Through guide information, planning, and mapping, we help people overcome these barriers, so more can enjoy the benefits of nature.

However, our work requires various walking equipment, first aid provision, risk assessments, and other running costs like hiring specialist guides and raising awareness about Pathmakers online – and all this requires investment.
Therefore, we welcome all forms of partnership with like-minded businesses. So, whether you want to make a one-off donation or sponsor a series of walking events, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

There’s never been a better time to partner with Pathmakers. A total of 33 guided walks and 31 self-guided walks were delivered at Walk Norfolk 2023, our annual walking festival, with a total of 2,484,700 steps taken by nearly 400 participants.
With increasing media coverage and positive feedback from all involved, we anticipate Walk Norfolk will grow year-on-year. We believe it’s the perfect platform for Norfolk businesses to align themselves with wellbeing, nature, and local causes – whether that’s conservation and local history or improving access to nature in impoverished areas.

With your support, we can continue our work with local charities and organisations, such as Vision Norfolk, with whom we have hosted several accessible walks for those living with sight loss and visual impairments, ensuring people of all abilities can enjoy the mental health and wellbeing benefits associated with walking and getting out in nature.
Support from corporate sponsors means we can continue investing in building relationships with charities and organisations across the region. With your help, we can create a healthier, more inclusive local community, where everyone has the opportunity to connect with nature and experience the life-changing benefits it offers.
One-off and recurring donations help keep us running, so we can keep people walking – regardless of the barriers in their way.
Sponsoring our annual WalkNorfolk festival or monthly walks won’t just improve your brand awareness and image, it also ensures we’re able to offer the very best events for our walkers.
Walking in nature is a great way to bond and strengthen the relationships that make up your business. We create bespoke walking activities that are fun, sociable, and accessible for all.
