What to take on a walk?

Every walker needs to take responsibility for their own safety and comfort and for those in their care when out and about. The following is a small list of some of the items that you might want to consider taking with you but it is not meant to be exhaustive.

Please select those, which relate to the specific walk that you are planning:

Strong comfortable boots.
Quick drying walking shorts or trousers.
Quick drying shirt.
Sweater or fleece.
Water and windproof jacket.
Waterproof over-trousers.
Thick socks.
Sunglasses.
Hat.
Warm gloves.
Sun cream.
Mobile phone, fully charged with a map app or GPS.
Map.
Compass.
Cash or Bank card.
Water bottle.
Energy or chocolate bar.
Flash light.
Whistle.
First aid kit with any specific medical requirements.
Small backpack
Walking stick or poles.

If you are walking with a dog, please don’t forget a lead as some walks will require them to be kept on a lead, along with water plus a drinking container.

Don’t forget the Countryside Code

There are over 27 walks currently available during the walknorfolk2022 event running throughout October. From countryside walks / poetry talks to beach cleans.
